For the last few weeks, I’ve been working on a new project. I’m proud to finally share this project, and I called it: Bundle Byte

Hunger Games in MC is awesome

Played some MC Hunger Games with Nintorii and Thomas recently, and we had a blast. We were doing awesome, until we all fell to our deaths. It was really awk because we were owning people up until then. Oh well, we got our 10th place (out of 132 people). This was our custom phrase just after killing a bunch of people:

I also played some Hunger Games on my own, and I got 1st place in one of my matches. That’s 1st out of 121 people!

This is the Kuru Toga Mechanical Pencil

I’m a pencil geek, I’m not going to lie, and I love using mechanical pencils at school. I recently got a chance to look at the Uni-ball Kuru Toga mechanical pencil from JetPens.com.

What makes this pencil special? That’s the first thing I thought when looking at it for the first time. From the back to the middle, it looks like any other mechanical pencil you’ve seen. When you take a look at the grip though, you’ve got a whole new story.
The Kuru Toga is fitted with an “auto-rotating engine” just under the clear-plastic grip. This basically turns the leads round as you write, to always give you optimal angle on the lead while you write. I have to say, it does make a big difference. No longer do you have to turn the pencil round with your hand to avoid writing on the sharp point of the lead, because the Kuru Toga does it all for you. And the best part? It’s not battery powered, it uses the pressure of pencil on paper to turn the lead round inside the pencil. It works very well, and I’d like to see this technology used in more mechanical pencils. Apart from that though, you’ve got a pretty basic all-around mechanical pencil. I personally use the Kuru Toga on my trombone stand at school, because it’s very light and relatively small, perfect for an instrument case. That being said though, you can use the Kuru Toga pretty much wherever you write. I’ve used it for homework, notes in class, and notes at my desk. It also takes the standard .5mm lead which shouldn’t make it a problem to refill, although it also comes in a 0.3 flavor.

For $7.50, you’re getting a pretty-well rounded pencil. It’s lightweight, comes in many colors, and uses the Kuru Toga rotating engine (which I absolutely love). The only drawback that I’ve found is that it can almost be considered “too light”, which may be a problem for longer writing sessions. For the average user though, I highly-recommend taking a look at the Kuru Toga. It’s available in many different colors over at Jetpens.com for $7.50.

Skiing at Crystal Mountain

I went to Crystal Mountain for a mini-vacation this past weekend, and got to ski with this wonderful of Rainier. We stayed at this small inn a few miles outside the mountain, which had an awesome hot tub. This is a picture of me and my dad at the top of Crystal, notice the GoPro on his head I was also wearing my Panda glasses, I didn’t even need to use my goggles.

This was the huge powder bowl at the top of the mountain. The conditions were perfect, making it awesome to ski down. There was a little part at the end which you could straight-line; with the view and everything, it was bliss.

This is the lift that goes to the top of the mountain. You get an idea of the scale of it all by looking at this.

This was my dad and I’s favorite spot to see the view. It was a short way down from the top, on a trail that nobody really used. It was amazing.

Killing Floor is awesome

I’ve been playing Killing Floor quite a lot with Thomas, Nintorii, Anatolie and Tom. It’s really fun, one of the best PC shooters for it’s kind. Thought I’d throw up these photos because I got some pretty good ones.

The new RJFC Modpack installer is going to be awesome

Chris has been helping me set up a modpack installer for the RJFC Modpack, to make it easier for users to pick the mods they want to install. It’s extremely lightweight, because all the mods and files you need are stored in the cloud, and download on a fast CDN when you need them. This means that if you don’t use half the mods I’ll include in the modpack, you don’t need to waste time/space downloading them. It’s also really easy for me to add more mods; everything is text based (version number, all the mods and install links), so updating mods is very easy on my end. It’s going to be hot, be sure to follow Chris and myself for updates on it.

My school’s network rack

The main rack itself, for such a big school, I was surprised at how little cables are in the rack. Not very organized, I give organization 3/5.

The actual cables look like an afterthought, but they’re nice and organized, and color coded. Good job school. Organization for the out-of-room cables are a 4/5.

iPad 3 Order Confirmed

I bought an iPad today, and they actually let my pre-order it. I’m happy. I actually got the same one as my dad, so we’ll have matching iPads (expect for the color of course).

MC2.rjfc.net is on Minecraft 1.2.3, and it’s open to the public

The latest version official version of Minecraft is out, and 1.3 is yet to be born in some form. I’ve decided to turn off the whitelist for mc2.rjfc.net for a bit, until the next snapshot. You spawn in an awesome jungle cove by the ocean, so go have some fun playing vanilla Minecraft 1.2!
